This movie is playing more often than Christmas Vacation During December so there are more chances to view it whenever you want. I haven't watched it for a while.
My wife and I were talking as we saw it on the menu and she said... BTW, I just wanted to let you know that I hate that movie. I know that you like it but I can't stand it.
Seriously? How can someone hate that movie? Is it just my wife or do Women in general not enjoy it?
Look, tastes vary. Why is that so hard to grasp?
I think "Shawshank" is a pretty good movie, but wildly overrated at the same time. Meanwhile, I despise "It's a Wonderful Life," finding it ultimately depressing and morally obtuse. Not sure I've ever known anyone else who agrees with that assessment. But so what? As I said, tastes vary. Different people value things differently. Celebrate that. If they didn't, markets wouldn't be possible.
I appreciate Shawshank Redemption for what it is...great actors, great acting, well-put together, etc. But it's a bit slow in the middle, and the story isn't all that compelling. So, I say it's a "good", not "great" movie, and I have no interest in seeing it again (I have seen it in its entirety once and bits and pieces a couple of times).
An example of a GREAT movie is Dude, Where's My Car?
You've proven once again that you have no taste.
Not compelling? You are surely not a "thinking man", let alone a thinker. Your idea of what is GREAT speaks volumes about you. Don't have kids.

1) Yeah, not all that compelling. I'm not the first one to say that.
2) My great movie comment was a joke, brother.
3) I've got two kids. Both are super smart and former college runners too.

How can you be so obtuse ?
Ahh…should have clicked on page 2 before posting. Well played
Guy a few posts back makes point. There's pretty much no women in it. Chalk it up to that.
Look on the bright side... at least she isn't demanding a spinoff movie about the Sisters.
That is a little disappointing. What's some of her favorite flicks, by chance?
Are you forgetting Andys shower pals the sisters?
No, dude...capital S. I didn't forget. How else would you interpret what I'm saying? Of course I'm talking about the group in the movie. What else would I mean by the Sisters? black women?
Many of us likely enjoy that fact that a false Pious POS gets what's coming to him. A nice secondary payoff to the escape. Yes Warden Norten Portrays himself as the most devout Christian telling everyone to read their bible while being a money stealing thief and abusing people. Hmm. Sounds like a certain leader that used to gather a group of evangelicals around him in the oval office to lay hands on him in prayer, while being a money launderer and literally the most abusive leader that ever held that office.

From a critical perspective it’s a man’s movie for one thing. Also Shawshank is the type of movie that all normal dudes cite to show that they have good taste in movies. Like yes it’s a pretty good major movie but it’s also the basic bros good movie starter pack.
