It’s got me wondering if they have all signed or sign some type of non-disclosure or support contracts upon joining the group?? Perhaps they are not allowed to not fully support someone within the group??
could be why so many left, but haven’t publicly spoken out against Shelby. They can leave… but perhaps they can’t speak out??
This is definitely right. Hard enough to make a living as a pro runner but good luck trying to keep your contract, while making waves with Nike. Guessing there's a pretty imbedded culture of fear/confusion that will keep athletes from speaking out even if they want to.
It's not an excuse though. Even if you're fine with BTC, running media needs to ask tougher questions. Their team was super likable & the way they handled the Shelby stuff (mostly just regurgitating well crafted legal/pr talking points & acting completely naive) really made them lose some credibility. Grant Fisher runs great, gets an AR, & gets to go on Citius Mag for an hour long love fest. Just ask a question about why we should trust that performance based on what happened with Shelby. It doesn't have to make up more than a fraction of an interview. But even the media is too scared to ask semi-tough questions. These are adults. Put them on the spot & make them sweat a little. The sport will be better off with more transparency.
Probably because they are personal friends. Regardless of their opinions they arnt going to publicly dump on a friend. You would be doing the exact same, dont kid yourself.

If their friend cut up and slaughtered 5 children would they put aside that friendship and condemn their friend?
It is suspicious that no one from the group has condemned her. But perhaps they're just uncomfortable because they have to see her everyday or close to that. But keep in mind, they probably know her better than any anonymous message board poster would. This could either mean she has redeeming qualities as a person which she's respected for or people are just afraid of her.
Some posters have some serious issues and need to reflect on what is important. They probably are not condemning her for several reasons.
1. She is considered a friend who made a mistake.
2. Why the need to condemn people? What is the benefit? Why do you think they have a responsibility to condemn someone else? I have fired numerous people for various reasons and feel no need to bash them publicly or privately. I know people who have gone to jail, cheated on their spouses, etc and I have felt no responsibility to bash them. Their actions speak for itself and doesn't need to be addressed.
Something to think about: If you find Bowerman 'disgusting' or you have 'lost respect' you really need to step off your soap box because nobody cares what you think. They're professional athletes in a fringe sport trying to chase a dream and make a living. Your respect is the least of their concerns directly behind condemning a former training partner.

Wouldn’t that be a stupid question? Fisher would just say he doesn’t dope and he would probably be telling the truth. Shelby’s teammates undoubtedly have a high opinion of her and are willing to give her the benifit of the doubt. It’s not uncommon behavior on their part. Do you expect them to say they all hate her and admit that the entire team dopes?
I find it disgusting that no Bowerman TC runners have not come out to condemn the convicted cheater that is Shelby Houihan. She had her due process and was confirmed a terrible drug cheat. Why would anyone in the club not come out and say what a rotten person she is? She continues lying and yet they say nothing. Don't they feel filthy associating with a convicted drug cheat? Don't they want a clean sport where the rules are fair for all?
The CAS didn't decide the question of "cheating" or "lying" or whether she is a "rotten person". She was not "confirmed a terrible drug cheat". On the contrary, they noted that she was a credible witness and brought compelling character witness evidence.
Why single out Bowerman TC runners (and coaches and assistant coaches)? Have any athletes come forward and outright condemned Houlihan as a rotten lying cheat, for not explaining the presence of the banned substance? Who is the model athlete that represents the kind of condemnation you are looking for? Maybe I missed it, but most all of the condemnation comes from what appears to be a zero-tolerance mentality from sceptical pundits and outraged "fans".

They may believe she did not cheat; after all CAS did not say that. The actually said she was a credible witness.

That depends, how old were the children? Did they eat the dead children? Did they use barbecue sauce? We need to know more details before we condemn that friend.
same with Kara , who i think is part of clean sport .
I am also disappointed with Kara. There is a big double standard out there.
I mean she signed a letter telling USATF they should not let Shelby into the meet and then on her podcast said she did not believe the burritto story. She admitted having initial bias hoping that she was telling the truth but in the end believe she should be banned. What more do you want from her?
Why would they? What's to gain by blasting a former teammate who's lost everything other to appease trolls on Let's run? It certainly isn't going to prevent others from doing it... it just seems like in a career where you have a small window to make it, wasting your energy on shaming people when they've already been so seems like a waste of time. You let the system work and move on...
