This is totally unbelievable and unacceptable.
The track and field world and national TV audience thought Ryan Crouser threw a world record of 23.38 on his 2nd throw today at Millrose. The competition continued on and the announcers, the results, everything showed Crouser with a world record of 23.38.
Turns out there was an error in the measuring system and it was not a world record. Crouser said afterwards he knew right away. (It was closer to a 22.50 throw he said).
Why the national TV audience, or the results system was not relayed this info, we do not yet know. World Athletics even wrote an article talking about Crouser's World Record in the shot.
Our interview with Crouser will be here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tW-5g4_teLEI spent an hour texting my friends that Crouser was now undoubtedly the greatest T&F athlete of all time, better at his event than anybody has ever been at theirs.
