I actually talked to a sales rep fairly recently.
They ramped up their production BIG TIME because demand spiked like you cannot believe during the pandemic. They were making more money than you would believe.
To supplement production, they bought Precor—as you all know, they make a TON of commonly-used treadmills, stationary bikes, etc.
Precor was doing well prior to their acquisition. Unfortunately, Peloton's short-term haste may have nuked both companies in the process.
My dad has used NordicTrack almost everyday since like 1993? I don't remember when he bought it but he swears by it. Could never run due to knee issues but would use that jawn every night. Still does at age 67. I believe it's the same frame just replaced some of the parts over the years.
My dad bought one in 1992 or 1993. I think they used it for a year or two at maybe twice a week before it was put into the basement and never used again. I used it twice and really liked the workout but it certainly wasn't as great as a nice run up the road.
At least Nordic Track didn't constantly bombard my workout log with pictures of strangers in goofy poses. I hope Peloton goes the way of the dodo if only to get them the hell out of my Strava feed. I just want to see my friends and their workouts, not 10 different photos of cody rigsby and emma lovewell.

Sounds to me like there might be an opening at Peloton if they are still in business.
Peloton has had some PR snafus along the way, but I believe that product placement was a huge success.
