I'd be a little more impressed if Droddy ever finished an OT marathon. I guess they get to grandfather-in Stinson's PR run under Ritz, even though he's probably only as good as his last race. This bunch definitely shines in non-WMM races against c-listers.

Last year NAZ women were dominant at the Trials and this year they were horrible. In 2016 Bowerman was dominant and by 2020 they were irrelevant in the marathon. This year the BYU crew dominated. Let’s see if it is sustainable or just the right group at the right time.

Not saying that Frank Lara would make the team but surely going to a different coach/training group would improve his chances. His HM time shows talent but clearly Roots and that coach aren't doing it for him. I wish he would move on and take a chance elsewhere. Also pretty sure being sponsored by Altra doesn't help him.

He's on the downside, Chicago was watered-down compared to most years. He could medal in Eugene, what odds do you give?
And if he makes the team in 2024, that reinforces the point further regarding US men's marathon development and relevance.

Maybe they possibly were at a point a couple years ago. They sure aren't now. Noah Droddy still hasn't finished an OT marathon, 0 for 3. There's a lotta quit in that guy, has he DNFed more marathons than he's finished? Parky Stinson got into the DNF act, too, and he's proud of his race. 🙄

And it was correct this time. Rupp didn't medal in Eugene and didn't make the team for Paris. Very much on the downside, though he was and remains better than all but a few domestically.
