Rheinhart holds the sophomore mile record at 4:01.34.
He's more of a 2-miler and beyond if you ask me. Not too big on the speed events, and has the Florida state 3200m record where he paced his teammate on sub 9 pace through 6 laps before finishing the last 800m in 2:01. He's definitely going sub-4 in the mile this year.

Disagree. Data clearly shows he is a javelin star. In all seriousness, I think he will be a 800-2mile guy not an XC or 10K guy.

2:22.7 is very quick indoors for a high school student..
Probably equivalent to 4:02-4:04 for a mile.
I ran the 1000m indoors a couple times in college and the best I could muster was 2:24 while running 4:05-4:06.

a 4:12 1600m. This was 6 weeks after he had ran sub 4 indoors.
So he could only beat high school Alan Webb after he tempoed a mile earlier in the day. He's garbage.

He came through 800 a 1:53xx on his way to 2:22.... I'd say he's definitely a mid d guy with ample strength and good speed.
And probably in sub 4 shape right now
2:22.7 is insanely good. It is 2nd all-time indoor high school boys behind Robby Andrews' 2:22.28. Webb ran 2:23.68. But then Matthew Payamps and Ben Malone ran 2:23.xx's also but under the radar in 2019 and 2012, respectively.
Last year's U.S. hs best was 2:28. Hobbs Kessler ran 2:29.3 last winter.

This why a guy like Matt Payamps (previously mentioned) can run 2:23 at USAs and "only" run 1:50 and 4:05. In college, generally an early-season 2:22-2:23 is a good indication of sub-4:00 ability. However, someone who runs 2:22 as their best race of the year, at a conference championship or something, is likely to be closer to 4:02-4:03 and maybe a bit under 1:50. So I think this is a great sign for Rheinhardt's sub-4:00 chances. However, I think right now he's probably in about 1:49 and 4:03 shape. I would love to see him go under 4:00 in the slow heat at Millrose or some Arkansas meet later this season, but if he tried right now I don't think he would do it.
