Your phrasing is odd--"even a Schweizer"?? You realize Schweizer won 6 titles, which would have easily been 7 had she not been sick? That's kind of a lot. She's extremely good.

Best shot, but hardly a sure thing for this year would be in DMR but that depends on how hard some other teams go after it. Her odds in a DMR probably will get better over the next 2 years. As an individual. she has a shot to win something in the next couple of years as do a list of at least 10-15 others already in college. She seems to be on an improvement track and how far it takes her remains to be seen. 4 years ago how many would have predicted Elly Henes would win a title in a big sprint at the finish?
Intentional. Schweizer was good in HS. She was okay as a frosh in college XC. She ran 9:35/16:30 in track. She was still unknown as a sophomore. She didn't become very good until junior year in college. Tuohy is the best HS XC runner of all time. She was as good in HS as Schweizer was most of her junior XC season in college.
More than what would have predicted Schweizer to do it 4 years before her 1st win.

Probably right. And that is why Yogi was right about predictions.

Shouldn't the top runners be running this weekend? Anyone know the schedule? Yeah I'd like to hear more about it , I don't know about records but should be some Fast Times and good competition
Start lists are emerging and in most of the meets it seems most of the top runners will not be running this week at least in the meets I have looked at.
Where are they now?

Well the list got to 5 in 2019. Starliper, Tuohy, Hart, Starcher, Parks. Suffice it to say Tuohy seems to be doing the best in college at 4:12 for 1500 and 2 time AA in XC, plus DMR AA, Hart ran 4:21 for 1500 but got AA on DMR sub 4:40 anchor, Starcher and Starliper have been hurt and done little in college so far, Parks got to 2:06.7 in the 800 but still about 4:20 for 1500 in 2021. Oh wise one, Yogi. A lot of folks thought Starcher would be the star. perhaps some day.

IMHO, it's a mistake to push Parks to run distances above a mile. More natural speed than long endurance. Sister has good speed from soccer and is a decent hurdler with a good chance to make PA HS state finals in the 300m hurdles in 2022 (finished 11th in 2021 as junior with 6 seniors in front of her).
854 3k pretty good at 19, she has 8 chances at mile and 1500 over the next 4 years, and 4 more at xc... I like those odds... u have 8 hrs to reply
A new darkhorse might have emerged for the mile title. Emily Mackay, an XC and 5k All-American who opened her season with a 15:44 at BU, just ran an NCAA-leading 2:04, a 4-second PR. That seems pretty dangerous to me; are there any girls faster than her at 5k with an 800 like that?
Yeah that's pretty good, but still an 854 3k seems more impressive... assuming McCabe sticks with the 3k and steeple tuohy looks good at the mile and 1500...

4:34.5 for Heisterman of Washington today. So, with Schadler do they also go the DMR route?

How does Tuohy look good at the mile and 1500?!?!?! She is not even a contender!!!!! She should stick to the 3K……she can’t win it because she has no closing speed but she can be in it until the last 200 m.

It’s indoor. Who cares? Her coaches r probably throwing her in for leg speed.

Because she just prd by almost 8 sec at 3k.... an 854 3k is like a 429 mile... if she can keep improving how many college girls r capable of approaching 425 mile... tuohy could be close in a year or 2..., also tuohy is 19, McCabe and roe an most other top runners r 21 and older... I like tuohy s upside....
Tuohy is the hs recorder holder in mile... if she keeps improving definitely could win in college...most of the top miles graduated or will be this year... who is clearly better than her for next year?

It only took her 4 years to actually PR!
Mile through 5k who u got.? wrote:

That mile PR was in 2017, and she has not broke 4:40 since then. You all are stuck in a time warp!!!! Tuohy is not a miler anymore. She is 3K or above
What if she runs 4:30?

Speaking of time warps, you are off by a year. She also went well under 4:40 om a dmr in 2019 as I recall. That being said I think it would be tough for her to win a ncaa championship1 mile or 1500.
