NC State certainly has it easier in the regional meet compared to some of the other top teams.

Orton looked pretty tired after conference championships, and didn't win by that much. Not sure she is going to be top 5. Best Runners I've seen are Kelsey Camille chelengat, McCabe and Roe, they should battle for the win

??? Orton won by five seconds, which is a pretty healthy margin. And she didn't look very tired.

5 second and who was the 2nd place and where did they finish at Nationals last year. Camp 13? I forget exactly but guarantee Orton does not finish top 5 at Nationals and maybe not top 10... it'll be like the Donahue and Dudek prediction from last year that they would both win it or be likely favorites in top 3. She'll take the lead early and then fade

I mean, maybe she won't finish in the top five. Your initial statement just wasn't very accurate. I mean, Orton was 7th at nationals in 2019 and was first through 5K in the spring. If she was fully healthy and fit, there's a decent chance that she wins that race. We'll see.
Another interview with Hays of NC State. She seemed to have a bad day at Nuttycombe (31st, 40 sec back of Chmiel) and pretty much says that in this interview. That became 20 sec at ACC. If she can repeat that on Nov 20 that becomes a very tough team to beat.
After today, I think Kelsey Chmiel is going to win next week.

For example, I have Lauren Gregory in tier 2 which would be places 3-8

As I had noted here and in the other thread I only ranked runners on teams, and at the time did not have Rice making it. Will amend to include the Rice team, and hence her.
Got it! I should have noticed.
Looks like it could come down to Orton and stelman... if Steelman can run in top 25 nc state r favorites... if not new mexico may take it
