It's not him. He crossed the border into Belize weeks ago. He's gone, never coming back. The body is someone else, possibly another victim, placed at the scene with some of his belongings to throw the police off the track. The parents will never submit to genetic testing and dental records are easily faked. Done all the time.

Technically since they asked how many children you had (past tense), it is accurate to list your offspring who are no longer children. You have zero children. You had four children. Your answer was accurate given the phrasing of the question.

Yeah, this is almost certainly him. I just hope he didn't shot himself or something quick; I hope he suffered and slowly died in the swamp. Maybe got bit by a snake and the poison slowly killed him or broke an ankle and starved to death being unable to gather food. That would be justice.

I think the FBI news conference today didn't leave too much doubt that they believe it is him. Basically, "We found a backpack and notebook belonging to him, and we found some human remains nearby." Exit stage left without answering any questions. They just want to get it officially confirmed by the coroner before they let the public know. Need to inform the families first, too. If it turns out that his parents had any knowledge of his whereabouts or helped him in any way, I believe the cost of the entire search operation should be billed to them. Hopefully it will bankrupt them and leave them homeless. If they honestly did not know anything then they should be left alone.

Were you born yesterday? A month long man hunt and the FBI, local cops, etc, find nothing.

Then, the day his parents go into the park, they magically find a body and some of his stuff.

Close, but be smarter. The parents were seen yesterday going to two different AT&T's. The first was closed, so they had to drive to a second. What was so important? To get a new burner phone. Why? So they could call someone else to plant Brian's stuff (etc.) in the last phase of the operation. Suddenly they both want to go to the search and they go straight to the spot where Brian's stuff is... end scene. Just running away is a suckers game, life on the run? With a dead body nobody watches the parents anymore or looks for Brian. They are now free to send him money etc., even go and visit him. It was genius. They were playing 3d chess while Bounty Dog was following the wrong bread crumbs.

How does submittal for genetic matching work? Do the police ask for genetic material and then the parents give the police one of Brian's old jizz socks as a DNA sample? Or do the police take a cheek swab from each parent and do some 23andme match between the unidentified human remains and the parents? Can the parents refuse genetic testing? Could the parents take a lock of hair from the unidentified dead body (presumably a random hobo or something) and submit that to the police as "Brian's" DNA sample?

Brian's father found his bag then they found the body. The Parents know it's their son. Another Article mentions the grieving Parents.

A snake's stomach acid is so powerful it dissolves bone. There is hair and DNA left over, but virtually impossible to ID a cause of death other than snake.

If there is one thing I know about snakes, it is that they will line up waiting for murderers to feed them, then will obligingly consume the entire human, pooping out pellets purely made of hair and dna. It is well known in the murderer and also detective communities. A very convenient way to dispose of bodies (except for the hair and DNA, which can never be destroyed, of course).

Maybe they can recruit some birds to take the hair away next, and build some nests out of it. That would solve that part of the problem. Then you would just be left with the pure DNA snake feces. It isn't surprising that they would excrete pure DNA, since DNA models look a lot like two snakes.

He actually is in Portugal. Headed down old south America way. He got there using money from the banana stand. He has a new girlfriend, she is a model, specifically a business model.
