US Women out perform Men ??

This is somewhat true. But I'm not sure why the NYT thinks what happened then is of relevance to now? Vritually every well known Olympian who is remembered, is black. So what is their point, and how do they support that the black women of these Olympics are being treated unfair? If that is what they are saying.

I meant white people don't complain about no one remembering white Olympians from the 1930s.

The fact that most Olympians from the US are black in the major sports for men and women means that the IOC is not discriminating towards black women.

Maybe some of that is true but when I watch the mens 800 and it is won in a slower time than Peter Snell back in the '60s on a clay track with crap shoes it does make me wonder.

That op-ed. Wow. That writer knows nothing about the Olympics. Otherwise, they couldn’t have seriously put Gwen Berry in the same sentence as Simone Biles. They probably hadn’t heard of her until the news about the anthem snubbing, and probably don’t know the context - I bet the author thinks she won the event in question, for example. Has a very provincial USA-only take on things as well, as usual for a Wokester.

That may be true but it doesn't explain why women did so much better than men specifically in 2021 and not in other years. In 2016 men won 7 T&F golds to 6 for the women. In 2021 it was only 2 for men and 5 for women. Is the men's competition in 2021 so much harder than in 2016?
