Exactly. He might have to front run to get the OQT. I think he'll miss out.

Out of the rest of BTC, the potential medal contenders all look a little out of sorts though Centro is coming strong at the right moment. Houlihan makes the team for sure but she needs some races against the contenders. Everyone knows she's TTd well over the last year but that doesn't matter at all, she needs to get back into a competitive environment

He still needs the olympic qualifier. IOC doesn't care that USATF has some rule letting him run in the U.S. championships. It's not a guarantee he will run under 8:20 in the two races at the trials.

More chance for Josette Norris if Schweizer is not 100%. I'm rooting for Norris to make the team.

I'm interested to see how Hall and Infeld do in particular at the 5k meet on Thursday. Hall has seemed pretty rusty as of late, and I think Infeld and Fraser just under-performed last time. Jorgensen will do better, she'll be in the low 15's but I don't think she's good enough to make an olympic team.

has jevan verbally confirmed doing the steeple at the olympics this yr?

Jerry really screwed everyone up by focusing on time trial racing last year instead of tactical racing. He pushed the limits too much and now they are paying the price because they are all less than 100% healthy.

Add Fisher to the list of responding well to Altitude. Did you see his 55 last lap finish?

I would assume he's checking in with everyone. For instance, he sent Infeld, Fraser, and Hall back to sea level because they raced poorly and Infeld put in her IG that she was fried from altitude. If Schweizer is back up at altitude, she probably just felt that it was a rust buster and wasn't a poor performance because altitude was too demanding. The whole thing with Shelby is really peculiar and it's a shame that Jerry is so secretive about her because she was/is a medal contender and no one knows what in the world is happening.

it's classic LR pedantry. i think in strict exercise physiology terms if you just say "interval" without qualifying, that refers to the recovery. something to do with the fact that that is when the cardiovascular adaptations happen. not sure what the proper term is for the time you're actually running. all that said, nobody actually cares. sometimes language can just be about communicating.

Think Mo Farah training compared to that of his competitors. Mo didn't chase times, he didn't do tons of world record attempts. He trained to build a kick and win strategic races. Because of that, Mo stayed healthy and dominated.

If you can't see the difference between that and what Jerry did last year, then I can't help you because you don't know anything about the sport.
