This is dumb, Quigley has beaten Houlihan for a national title. She would also crush her in a steeplechase.

Quigley had one of the great pacing efforts on the women's side in that incredible 5000m time trial they did last year where Houlihan ran 14:23-4 and Schweizer ran 14:26. She was dead on pace every lap.

If you read the farewell Bowerman letter that Colleen posted, she barely mentioned Shelby at all. I thought that was weird considering they basically joined BTC at the same time. She wrote an individual entry for all the other members of the club and had absolutely nothing for Shelby. Definitely something going on there.

Who’s this dude ripping about “are you a teenage girl”? Lol what are you, 90? Brah running is a form of entertainment. Instagram is how customers get that entertainment.

In the steeple? More like 98%. The only thing that will derail her is an injury. I doubt even a fall can stop her. Coburn, Frerichs, and Quigley are far above the rest. As a former Alaskan, I love AllieO but she has a long way to go to get top-3 in 2021.

Yeah that letter is a bit strange. I get a paragraph for Shalane and even Emily since they were the OG’s of BTC, but she wrote a specific paragraph for Kate and Marielle and then kind of clumped Courtney, Karissa, Shelby, Gwen into one and barely a sentence for each one. Courtney and Shelby have definitely been there longer, so found it a bit interesting. You can say that there was absolutely nothing going on, but I don’t believe that.

In many ways, I think having the Project going as the "enemy" actually helped cohesion in Jerry's group. Having a "bete noir" to focus anger on, keeps a cohesive attitude going on in such a big group. Big groups are going to have interpersonal problems among members, but many coaches can counteract this with an "us against the world" internal philosophy. But having a real rival group/team is more effective IRL. With the Project now defunct, the BTC has turned on itself.

Quigley will make the team assuming that she is injury-free for this spring...that being said 5% chance of medalling would be a stretch barring an accident midrace with a few runners-agree Shelby medalling is probably 50/50, It would be great if she could nab one after the close race in Doha...I would give Centro a bit more of a chance to medal given his experience etc...time will tell!

good point with NOP going defunct--plus BTC having such a collection of athletes compared to 4 or 5 years ago makes it more difficult for everyone to be happy--and obviously some really wanting to grab the spotlight with other teammates resenting that...sometimes prosperity creates issues--just like some superteams in basketball ie. 2003-2004 Lakers

Quigley is not a viable medalist - more of a show pony. Even Coburn barely makes the podium on the world stage, there’s just too much talent out there.

It would be interesting to get to the bottom of the Shelby/Colleen drama. It seems like some of the other girls are taking a swipe at Quigley too, on IG yesterday Emily, Karissa talking about their race braids.

Yeah, I saw that and while I like those ladies a lot, seemed immature. Like yeah it's kind of silly that CQ acts like she invented braids, but rise above and move on. That said, I did chuckle.
