2k split was only 4:58.38, yet they were ahead of the wavelight. Followed by a 2:25 final km. They must have targetted the negative split with the wavelight.

Alright and let’s get Girma out of the Steeple

If I had to guess what Girma will do after this - 3k steeple world record and world title, and then focus on 5k? This guy has 12:3x potential with a 7:23....

Gudaf Tsegay gets world leader

They went out too hard in this one with Tsegay out around 60 seconds. She was ahead of the 2nd rabbit.

At 500 the rabbit was at 74.29 which is 4:43 pace (they were on the pacing lights). Then things gradually slowed down.

Lamecha Gierma your new world record holder

Girma was pushed to the line by Katir of Spain and that was enough for him to dip under the 25 year old world record of 7:24.90 by Daniel Komen.

American Grant Fisher fell off around 1800m and finished 5th in an indoor PB of 7:35.

Here we go - world record pace and a world class field

Men's 3000 is here. The pace will be hot without a favorite which is what the sport needs.

Is it just me, or do wave lights spoil the anticipation when you see the runner fall behind the pace in the last lap and know he's not gonna make it?

Wave lights should be turned off for the passt 200-400m.

3:32.40 WL if you don't count Nuguse's time.

That's why world record attempts are a bit boring when there is no one else in the race and they come up short.

Fell off pace before the pacers were out.

Easy Win for Jakob but WR attempt falls off last 600

First rabbit made it 900 and it looked then the record might be slipping away and Jakob couldn't kick much on his own.

W 800 about to start

I just don’t get the coaching instruction for Keely in that one. She is in 1:56 shape, but why is she attacking each race like 26hi/56hi is good for her? I get she might need to be OK with these splits at Worlds if Mu/Moraa push, but she also should be comfortable going through the field and running her own best race.

Keely Hodgkinson gets world leader but not British record

Keely went out fast 56.39, 1:26.80, but could only manage a 30.92 the last lap to finish in 1:57.72 a world leader but off her British record of 1:57.20.

Huge lead with 60 meters to go

Grant Holloway Cruises to Final

It's one of the more unbelievable streaks. He hasn't lost in a short hurdles race since 2014.

Daniel Roberts won heat 1 in 7.58. Holloway 7.40

Update on pacing before main TV window starts

Of the events to come the pacing lights will be designed to hit the world record in the men's and women's 1500 and men's 3000 and women's 800. And the lights are smart, so the pace does not have to be an even pace. Details below.
