Here are your 31 NCAA men's teams. Teams 19-31 are at-large.

  1. Wisconsin
  2. Notre Dame
  3. Villanova
  4. Georgetown
  5. Tulsa
  6. Oklahoma State
  7. Northern Arizona
  8. BYU
  9. Syracuse
  10. Harvard
  11. Tennessee
  12. Ole Miss
  13. Arkansas
  14. Texas
  15. North Carolina
  16. Virginia
  17. Stanford
  18. Gonzaga
  19. Wake Forest
  20. Colorado
  21. Air Force
  22. NC State
  23. Princeton
  24. Alabama
  25. Washington
  26. Oregon
  27. Michigan
  28. Montana State
  29. Colorado St.
  30. Utah State
  31. Butler

Note, Butler and Duke are tied for the the last spot and are tied on common opponents so it's super close for the last team in. Here is the logic according to the computer program of Bo Waggoner (a Duke grad) as to why his alma mater is the first team out.

3 Butler, Duke
  2 Iowa State, CBU
0 Florida State, Wyoming, La Salle, Texas A&M, Cornell
Others with points: Portland (10), Charlotte (3), Cal Poly (3), Providence (2), Michigan State (2), Eastern Kentucky (1), Boise State (1)
Breaking ties between Butler, Duke using head-to-head
No head-to-head tiebreaker for Butler and Duke
Breaking ties between Butler, Duke using common opponents
Common opponents are tied for Butler, Duke (win percentages: 0.5, 0.5) (common opponents: Notre Dame, Michigan State, Syracuse, Eastern Kentucky, Liberty, Pittsburgh, NC State, Villanova, Indiana, Providence, Charlotte, Boise State, Florida State, Michigan, Georgetown, Wisconsin)
Breaking ties between ['Butler', 'Duke'] using highest place at regionals.
Broke tie by selecting Butler (highest regional finish).

NAU wins mountain but still super vulnerable

Colin Sahlman was 6th man. Santiago Prosser went from being #1 in race at 5k to NAU's 5th man at end of race.

Stanford Wins out West, Portland in Trouble

The top 6 were supposed to get in in this region but that was with Portland being 6th. Instead they will be out.

Crazy thing is Utah Valley who finished behind BYU in #7 also made it, but no way was this the plan for BYU to cut it this close.

Stanford Gets it done out West, Portland in trouble

The top 6 were expected to get in this region but that was if Portland was in top 6. They'll miss NCAAs for first time since 2015.

All 9 women's regions completed

The West and Mountain regions just finished up on the women's side with Stanford and New Mexico taking the titles. BYU women, ranked 6th nationally, were only 6th at the Mountain Regional.

We'll run the numbers and have the projected women's qualifiers for you in a few minutes.

Men's qualifiers through 6/9 regions

  1. We've only got the Mountain, West, and Midwest races to go on the men's side.

  2. In the Southeast, the UVA men weren't projected to qualify but they're definitely going now after finishing 2nd in the region. That means NC State is now an at-large team, bumping Utah State out and leaving Colorado State as the last team in. The Mountain results will be telling. Right now the top 6 are projected to get in, but that's based on projections, not the actual results.
  1. Wisconsin
  2. Notre Dame
  3. Villanova
  4. Georgetown
  5. Oklahoma State
  6. Tulsa
  7. BYU
  8. Northern Arizona
  9. Syracuse
  10. Harvard
  11. Tennessee
  12. Ole Miss
  13. Arkansas
  14. Texas
  15. North Carolina

We love to see new teams making it to NCAAs. The Northwestern women are going dancing for the first time since 2002. Congratulations to them.

  4. Georgetown
  5. Oklahoma State
  6. Tulsa
  7. BYU
  8. Northern Arizona

ND women impress

The #5 Notre Dame women showed themselves to be the class of the Great Lakes Region, putting five in the top 12 to score 34 points and advance easily. Things were very tight behind them as the next five teams were separated by just 20 points. But as it stands, all five of those teams will qualify for NCAAs anyway.
