Lance
Armstrong to Give the Marathon Another Go, This Time More Seriously by: LetsRun.com November 22, 2006
In an interview on thepaceline.com,
Lance Armstrong said he
intends to run the 2007 NYC Marathon. And this time he intends to train
properly for it.
After Armstrong's marathon debut in NY in 2:59:36, Armstrong said of
the marathon, "Without
a doubt that was the hardest physical thing I've ever done".
When asked if he intended to do another marathon Armstrong said, "The
answer right now is no, I'll never be back". However, he added, "But
I reserve the
right to change my mind."
After a few weeks thought, Armstrong has changed his mind. After his
agony in NY this year, Armstrong
admitted,
"I
suppose I didn't train sufficiently enough for a marathon."
But apparently he intends to train seriously for this one. He
told paceline.com (a fan website for the Discovery Channel Racing
Team):
