The amount of money you need to put up and guarantee TV I say a US city will never host this. A number a years back major US city was interested and figured out they would have to put up about $2 million with no guarantee of earning that back and figured in the end they would be out at least $1 million when all was over. A price tag they could not handle. That was about 10 years ago now sure it is much more now

Hopefully there will be a good thread on this event as it gets closer. The climbs look brutal and to have a beer tent, a mud pit, sand pit, and water area will make this a very tough race.
