I ran a 16:57 last week with the first mile being at 5:10, and then this week I ran but my head wasn’t in it at the start, and I got seriously bottlenecked because it funneled in and I couldn’t pass anyone at all for 1 mile, leading me to get a 5:25 first mile. I then tried to pass some people and eventually got a 5:27 second mile, and a 5:26 third mile, finishing the 5k in 16:55. Is there any hope for me to maybe get into the 16:40s or 30s at the end of the season? The next three courses will be slow, but I’ll then go back to the course I ran a 16:57 at at the end of November.
