That is why she is loved and appreciated by her coaches and teammates. Win a WMM and still not too big for your team.
After watching that field in Cork City smash 9 minutes in the 3k, there might be something in the air this week. At Rabat Hassan and Obiri made the AR look really soft - I really think Houlihan has a good shot at crushing it since she easily looks as fit as Hassan (and can get the AR with a run that is about 18 seconds slower). If Flanagan is going to pace her, though, she may have to go a long way into the race to make that possible. I have no doubt Houlihan could do it in a more competitive event.
Flanagan seems like an odd choice for a pacer. As a marathoner, does she still have the wheels to throw down a good pace on the track?

She has to be looking at 14:30 pace, how long can Flanagan hold that?
It doesn't matter whether she helps physically or not. Just knowing that a multiple time Olympian cares enough about her team will help her mentally.
It is cool to see Flanagan pacing, but if this is going to be a low 8:30s race, I will be surprised to see Flanagan go more than a couple of laps. Also, it is hard to imagine Flanagan traveling this far just to pace; is see also running a race? Flanagan ran the 5K at this meet last year.

Sorry, but I don't see the start lists for the women in the 5000.

They aren't up yet. I think that's why the OP said, "not yet updated."
I don't see her going faster than 14:40.

14:40 would be pretty good. That's faster than any American except Rowbury. It'd be especially impressive if she runs that fast without someone else setting the pace. In Pre and Lausanne, she kicked past everyone off a fast pace If it turns out she can set a fast pace and then kick at the end, she'll be even more dangerous.
AMERICAN RECORD.
There is Diamond league Friday and Saturday and Sunday this week and we've got Houlihan running a b race in Belgium.
Proves she's not a 5k runner yet

She only have a 15:00.27 PR for the 5k. She doesn't deserve to be in a Diamond League race.
But I think she can end her career as the American record holder in the 1500 and 5000, if not more events. It would be great to see a runner take Mary Decker Slaney's records, if only because she was caught doping and was bitter about the Zola Budd incident for way too long.
Flanagan's certainly not going to go out at 14:30 pace. I doubt it's any faster than 14:40, so 2:56 per k, since that would set it up well to give Houlihan a chance to kick a bit and get below 14:40. Flanagan ran low 8:40s in the 3k indoors this past winter, so I wouldn't be surprised if she makes it as far as 3k, aiming for sub-8:50, before dropping.
We'll see though...as others alluded to it's probably going to be a much different type of race than Houlihan has excelled at lately. Hopefully she can grind it out in the latter stages on her own.

Flanagan looks like she's serious about pacing:

14:35, bro. She'll crush it.
Honestly, though, I bet she is looking to run in the 14:40s or whatever it takes to get into top class 5ks on the circuit.
