teams/individuals to watch in big 12 XC this year?
Iowa State men and women should win easily. OK state rumors have died down so I would predict that they will be competing with Texas for 2nd on the men’s side.
Women's side: Individual-
Watch for Texas Tech's Nokuthula Dlamini. Missed track season due to injuries.
Finished 2nd at Pre Nationals last year running barefooted (also ran barefoot at Big 12 conference meet).
Bump
IA St easily for both. The men may even put 5 in top 10.
same as last year: 1. Iowa State 2. Texas 3. OSU
GO BIG RED.
Men:
1. Texas- lotta youth in their system which preps them for future battles with Iowa State and OK State
2. Iowa State- Easily the best team in the division last year, may have to fight for it with the youthful Texas team.
3. Ok State- losing their top runners, only really reach this spot due to lack of depth of teams in the BIG12. $5 says they find a random Kenyan to join their team to propel them farther up in the ranking
4. Kansas- Kind of a darkhorse for 3rd place in the division; however, I think they lack a Top runner to really push them into the Top 3.
5. Texas Tech- I think most would rank Tech 4th but I just don't see it coming together this year for the red raiders unless some incoming freshman can really step it up.
6. Baylor- This division is hot garbage, allowing baylor not to finish last, or even bottom 3.
7. Oklahoma- An interesting team which nothing can be expected of. I can see a few surprises occurring this year with some of their recruits.
8. Kansas State- Senior-loaded k-state last year didnt even finish top 3, should struggle this year
.
9. TCU- these boys are slow
1. ISU - will go 1,2 with Kurgat and Jordan and has podium contender at NCAAs. Easy win for the cyclones.
2. Texas young team will repeat last year and squeak past OSU for 2nd.
3. OSU losing runners and losing momentum and needs a couple yrs to catch the cyclones.
Men:
1. Iowa State - nobody in their way. Probably a really low score
2. Oklahoma State - losing half their team, but still better than Texas
3. Texas - they're always around. The guy who had them winning must be on the team
4. Tech - I feel like a Kenyan or two will appear out of nowhere
5. Oklahoma - Young, but good recruits
6. Kansas - could be better, but holy hell were they bad last year
7. Kansas State - almost all freshmen, big leagues is different
8. Baylor - I don't know
.
9. TCU- might be leading at 50m into the race
Any new predictions after the weekend on the womens side? Texas... Wvu...?

This thread was from 2018!!!
Could the TCU men finally escape the cellar this year and stick it to Oklahoma? If I'm the coach at Oklahoma, I ask a few of the men to identify as women so they at least have a chance of beating a team on that side while not having enough men to score...thereby ducking the result on paper. I realize that still wouldn't necessarily help them beat any women though...

lmao wtf
Oklahoma sucks needs a new coach NOW! There’s some great up and coming coaches that could help revive this once thriving program.
Maybe they got all scholarships pulled.

Yeah...Oklahoma offered many of them the job...all of them turned it down.
