TDR - Good week. Nice build up on that progression. I don't typically run doubles, but your AM runs seem rather short. It's more of a curiosity than any sort of concern.
RRR - Don't be so butt hurt. In other words, hope it gets better soon. I enjoyed seeing what Pappy was cooking up for you and hope to see you get back on plan.
GT - Good looking week and right on plan.
R4F - Your week of cross training looks like triathlon training. Good to see that it looks like you found the solution to your foot pain.
Sub 6:00 - Look on the bright side, you still managed to keep up a reasonable volume with all that you had going on.
Coach Jeff - I think you are selling yourself a little short on the age graded records. I seem to recall that you had a sub 19 5k last November. That falls within the time limits, right? Power outages do suck. Hope the storm isn't too bad and the lights stay on.
OR - That's some fast running in the warm weather.
SC - Congrats to your fiance for the AG win.
Smoove - Congrats on the 4mi. masters win.
Allen - Hope the Achilles stays on the mend in the lead up to you 15k.
stat - Interesting Wed. you had there. Turning that race into an extended workout.
pewow - Congrats again. Its been fun to see you get your summer racing in after seeing all your cross training over the winter.
AJ - Smokin' time trial.
jewbacca - Where in Saturday's run did you fit in that speed work? Either way 18mi + speed work looks legit.
Jeremy - Good week. Consistency pays off in the long run.
JtA - Down weeks happen. Consider it a small bump in a long road. It has very little impact to your long term training. Some things in life take precedence over running. Your pace and stride length look familiar to me. That was me a few years back. Stick with it and your pace will improve.
RunnerSam - Thought I would add a little bit to the easy pace discussion. When I was training for my last marathon there was a lot of variability in my easy runs. Both in terms of pace and distance. The day after a workout I feel rough and don't really feel like running that fast and just go with what my body tells me. If I am not feeling sufficiently recovered the day before the next workout I scale back that run so that I am ready to hit the workout the next day. Full Disclosure: I am older and I chose a plan that I did not have the capacity to handle. I reduced 50% of the workouts in one way or another.
My age graded stats from this year are 77.6% 5k 19:00, 76.2% marathon 3:02:58. Age 50. Man I can't believe I'm 50. I sure don't feel fifty. Well...most of the time I don't feel fifty.
As to the foot numbness. I suspect that my feet have swelled a bit and/or not being restricted by shoes for good portion of the day have let things spread out a bit. I loosened my laces all the way down the shoe and things seem better.
Also, I have to amend my past weeks training. Instead of not running on Sunday I decided while sitting on the beach that the cool overcast weather and low tide should not go to waste so I went and ran 3.5mi barefoot on the beach. That make 48mi for the week.
