The outside of my ankle hurts. It’s right next to the ankle bone (or just behind it) and I am very sure that my peroneal tendon is what is hurting.
I can jog in place without pain and the hop test is easy. When I try to run, though, I get enough discomfort that running is uncomfortable. It’s not horrible, since I can still walk with very little pain, but it affects my running gait.
I have been icing a lot. For exercise I have been doing a lot of cycling. Every few days I take a short jog around the block (half mile) but am forced to end the run due to pain and improper gait. The pain was a lot worse about 1.5 weeks ago when it started (discomfort while walking) and right now it is definitely much improved. But I feel like the pain is at a plateau and neither getting worse nor better.
Is there anything more I can do, or do you have any experiences to share?
Thanks so much.
