For those not aware of the issues so far, this thread on Sandra who is also going for the record starts to follow Mimi and her non existent tracking from page 14 onwards - link to page 14

After Robert Young and Amy Hughes is Mimi Anderson next in the ongoing series of "Which Brit cheats best?
It's time to watch Mimi Anderson's tracker a little more careful.

If she can't provide GPS tracked info over the whole route, her attempt will be invalid.

Yes, she has finally turned it on, but what about all the numerous holes when it was off, like the missing 7 hours yesterday?
This attempt is already invalid.
She has either used a totally inappropriate tracker or is deliberately turning it off to cheat, then cleaning up the watch data to cover the missing bits. this is very easily done.
Live tracker for the entire thing or go home
Anyone live out that way (Colorado now) and drop in unannounced for some of the running?
I think this is the next step- observing the attempt in person
Also her connection w/ Scammer Ben Rodgers has never been properly explained

She got some 'splainin to do.
It is to late for Bird Mimi to fix the gross error of failing to track herself the prior twenty days. The best she can claim is a run from eastern Colorado to NYC.
She should be leaving breadcrumbs on her previously run path. That sudden data and time leaps can be check for. But she still has a rank armature for such an experienced long trekker.

Her run is unofficial. No band aids can fix her self-inflicted booboos.

She is now pretty much in the middle of nowhere. This is a pretty remote area she has to run through until she gets to St. Louis.
Interesting.
For the first time Mimi Anderson's team is posting something longer on facebook. It seems like they are waking up.

The route today was essentially long and flat, the road could be seen vanishing at the horizon over 12 miles in the distance. Mimi was definitely feeling the effect of the last few days of rain and cold and was not her normal chirpy self. The rain was only sporadic in the morning but the cold wind was biting. By dawn the rain had passed but it remained cold.
The hardest thing for the crew today was to find suitable stopping places at the required distances for lunch and the end of the day. The RV is so large that if we miss an opportunity we would have to drive many miles before finding a turning spot. Today this has meant a slightly shorter mileage.
The Trackers have had a few issues again as we lose mobile coverage. It requires a minimum of 2G to function, but do not work with 4G. The response time for the trackers can also be effected, we are told, when there are other events using the system creating high traffic and therefore slow response times. Updating the web and facebook pages are equally tricky in these areas.
A harder day for Mimi and this resulted in a slightly shorter day but still an amazing 54.5 miles - the total so far 1104 miles.

What?!? Are you saying the tracker they are using is cellphone-based instead of satellite-based? Satellite based tracking technology (aka Garmin) in things as small as watches has been around for years.
This discussion probably needs to be combined into the Sandra Vi thread, with a better thread title for the combined thread. There is significant info in that other thread.

The support car and RV trackers broadcast just fine throughout the day and were never turned off. Does everyone see the problem with this excuse of theirs?

We can ask the brojos to retitle that thread to something like "Mimi Anderson and Sandy Vi both going for US transcon record".

Yes. Utter madness to take a tracker that is cellphone based. However this is nonsense as they were shown to be in a 3g area yet it was still turned OFF

Totally agree that merge is a good idea!
Any idea what happened to the Sandy thread?
