Incredible run for Cragg. You could see the pain on her face for the last few miles but she gutted it out and nearly got Kiplagat too. Mad props to her.

One of the most exciting marathons I've watched in awhile. Actually racing is so much more entertaining. Didn't even note finishing times until 10-15 minutes after winner crossed.
Most beautiful anthem ever 🇰🇪

...only 15 seconds off her PR.
Flash women's marathon recap is now up:
Also, prediction contest updated through women's marathon:
I was so busy watching the marathons, I didn't pay much attention to this morning's track action.
Damn, Kyron MCMASTER got DQd for stepping inside his lane in in the 400h. The world leader. I had picked him for silver. Damn.
Did anyone watch the pole vault this morning? Sam Kendricks, who came in undefeated on the year, needed 3 attempts to get of 5.60m . If he missed, he would have been out. He then made 5.7 on his first attempt.
Teen sensation Armand Duplantis had an eventful morning. He made the final by clearing 5.70 but he needed three attempts to get over 5.3, two get get over 5.45 and 5.60 and three to get over 5.70
In the 110h, Aries Merritt had the fastest time of the day at 13.16.
Cragg, stay in contact, lest bronze escape. She is suffering. Cragg, again third. Kiplagat, real track ruunner stride. Back kick right to her posterior!
Torie Bowie only American woman through to 100 meter final
men's 400 meters, second semi is over-loaded. Two to final plus two fastest.
All inn second semi:
Wayde Van Niekerk
LaShawn Merritt
Babaloki Thebe
Traditionally the womens 100m has been dominated by the U.S and Jamaica. While a jamaican is the favorite, the Ivory coast has two 10.8 athletes in the final. I know some find it suspicious, but I love watching the sport become popular in other nationas that then stand up to the traditional powers. South africa is a good example.
The first Semi is pretty good to.
Kerley and Gardiner.
Kerley has to hope his 44.51 holds up fir a fastest loser. Bahamian national record 43.89. Nathan allen 44.19. That waa fast.
Kerley third. Will have to wait to see if he can advance to final on time.
Faded in stretch. Long season effect?
Steven Gardiner 43.89 national record.
Fred Kerley 3rd 44.51. Top 2 each get advance plus some on time
I want to find a grass track like the one in the Van Niekerk human interest story. That is all.
Van Niekirk 44.22
LaShawn Merritt had the wheels fall off.
Kerley still the first fastest loser
Third semi has Makwala and Cedenio
Don't think WVN wanted to work that hard.
Don't understand, with all of the races he is doing, why he accelerated to better Thebe. He would have been a comfortable second.
The final is
Gardiner 43.89
Allen 44.19
Van Niekerk 44.22
Makwala 44.30
Thebe 44.33
Kerley 44.51
Gaye 44.55
Haroun 44.64
Most years if this was the final result it would be considered a great race, its amazing how far the event has come in the last 2 years.
