Hi
My goal is to run sub 15 minutes for a 5k in a month. I guess my estimated level is now around 15.40. I've never run a 5k race on a track before but have done 8.50 for 3k in slightly better shape.
I have a relatively high mileage, with 80-90 miles a week. My biggest weakness as a runner for shorter distances is the ability to handle the race speed. I'm starting to struggling almost as soon as the pace gets faster than my threshold pace.
Do you guys have any examples of good specific workouts for 5k racing, and paces to run for such workouts? Other suggestions for improvement would also be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
