Originally was planning on 4x300 at 39. felt good after 4 so added another one af end. Splits were 38.5, 37.7, 38.8, 39.9, 39.9. 8 min break. This was my first hard workout of 2017. What can I do for 800?
Last year PR
800-1:55
400/49.8

8 minutes between reps?
Yeah, prettty common for fast reps between 300-500 meters.
Also ran a time trial 600 in 1:21 in january. Hoping for 1:52 this year. At 40-50 miles a week and just starting to add speed

You've got the speed for it
Ran 16:55 in 5k earlier this fall. I can manage 5x1k in 3:18 with 1 min break. So endurance isn't great but a lot better than years previous.
Low 1:52 at least assuming you have the speed endurance to get through an 800m fast.
I'd plug you about 1:56-58 right now.
Only one speed workout and PR 1:52 is the discriminating factors here.
He is at LEAST 1:54 shape right now. Probably much faster outdoors
