Most have a sliding scale related to your grades/SAT scores. I think the Penn times are about right if you only have the "minimum" grades and test scores, around the 25th percentile of those admitted. Running is NOT football/basketball. It will not get you in if you totally don't belong, even if your name is Cain or Webb. Ivy coaches/admissions understand having a Cain or Webb crash and burn hurts everyone involved.
Can the coach help with admissions if you meet the 25% standardized scores of those admitted and you are an average recruit?
