No way I can run the same day after a serious lifting session. (At least not well, and certainly not long.) If you're anything like me I don't see the point. You can either lift light and still run, or lift hard and hurt the run. Either way there's sacrifice. Why not run, then lift? This way you lose nothing.
If lifting is a supplemental exercise yes it could be done. My team had no choice but to lift before some workouts, we made it work
