Sorry, that was among Afro American families. I misread the title.
That's what happens when you start letting women sleep with other women. Thanks a lot, Lilith Fair.

In the black community it's actually close to 80% now. Hispanics are at 60% despite the propaganda about family values. Whites are actually close to 20% and Asians at about 10%. The Hispanic numbers are skewed a bit because a lot of married women claim to be single mothers in order to rake in the welfare dollars and other benefits. Not PC, but that's what goes on. It's rampant in L.A., the Hispanics brag about it here.
CHILD ABUSE to let a child grow up without a mom and a dad. Pathetic adults we have in this world.
I do not live in a fartless home.

Lol child abuse? A child can be raised by a single parent just fine. What is ACTUAL child abuse is having kids when you can't afford them.

I'm pretty that the Freakonomics authors did a study about a decade ago that looked at possible correlations between IQ and race/ethnic group/marital status found that the strongest negative correlation with child IQ was not race or ethnic group, but being raised in a fatherless home.
There is also a strong correlation between low income households and fatherless households, which would also be a detriment to children in those households.
I would say at least 8 children
Maybe you should change the title of this thread to "Making oral great in America, again!"

Clarification: fatherless or single parent? What about households in which the single parent IS a father? What about households with two parents in which both are mothers? I'm pretty sure children in the latter scenario turn out fine.

Turn out fine? It is still early days with respect to getting lots of data on this. From what I've read, however, children raised by same-sex couples are significantly worse, but there's much research to be done.

And in which religious right publication are you reading that, exactly?

Well, if it is not "early days," then please provide some data.

Ummm, none. You could see the work of Regnerus of University of Texas at Austin.

Thanks for actual stats, sir. I'm curious, though, what their definition really means. They says 'families headed by a female with no spouse present.' There can be plenty of involved fathers who don't live with the mother, and have their kids fairly often. I'm 50-50 with my lesbian ex, so I suppose by some definitions they are being raised by both a single mother AND a single father.
