Please note, one of the options that USATF has it to re-run the race.
WIll they have the guts to do it? Let everyone recover for a few days and then race it again?

No
Martinez was cheated in that race. I don't think there is any way she does not make the team if Montano does not run up on her...
Montanyo is an idiot, that is what happened.
Dont let that psyco Montano in if they do
That was montano's fault. Martinez ought to whip her ass, but there's nothing to be done.
Montano took herself out and was the only one seriously impacted, no rerun.
who tripped Martinez? looked like Rogers. does it matter? would they do a DQ and re-run?

+1
What a moron
If they don't re-run the race Martinez should petition IOC and run as a neutral.
Is Martinez entered in the 1500? Feel so f'ing bad for her rn
Great finish for Kate Grace, but it is very unfortunate that Martinez was deprived an Olympic spot, and in the process, one of our other erstwhile medal contenders (assuming that the CAS decision were overturned, of course) in Montano took herself and Martinez out of it. Very unfortunate.
Montano may have been overdramatic but she was looking good with 180 to go. I think she had a very good shot.
Tough for Martinez. That fall was 100% Montano's fault. Looked like Gabrielle Gruenwald running straight into people ahead of her with no care in the world. I don't feel bad for her at all.
They didn't rerun this race:

You still have to go around people not through them. She's a total fvcking idiot. Should get her 3:06 "performance" deeq'd.
Montano screwed America and took out one of our best hopes for a medal.
But it's the 800. Anything can happen. Rerunning the race would be ridiculous.
Ludlow was also impaired, she hesitated to avoid contact and still almost pulled into 3rd. Missed it by 0.04.
So, I like Montano. She's great. But, she raced really poorly.
First, she allowed herself to be passed on the INSIDE on the back stretch of the last lap. This happened b/c she led the race from the outside of lane 1 for ages. What was she thinking? B/c she got passed, she ran back up everyone and clipped BMart. If anyone should feel aggreived - it's BMart. Montano was in the wrong. If she had owned lane 1, she would have run her typical race of controlling it from the front. Stupid.
They need to re-run it. Too much happened at a critical point in the race 150 meters left, that affected at least 3 runners, maybe more -- including our top 800m runner. That was a travesty. Also NBC's completely ignoring the Bmart situation is unreal. They should just stop doing track coverage. They are clueless!!
