Did you all see the last 100 or so meters? Looked like he could have run 7:56 or so and could attack the world record. i have never seen 8:02 look so easy.

His stride is so bouncy. His Achilles must be made of rubber bands.
It's an Olympic year, so athletes around the world will be saucing up in preparation. We'll probably see plenty of unreasonable times like the 2012 Paris 5000m:

Kipruto's starting to look like the Olympic favorite. The final will probably be fast since there are multiple guys like Kipruto and Birech who do well in fast races. They are probably tired of being out-kicked by Kemboi over the last 250m.
The 2012 paris 5000 times weren't unreasonable, it was just one of the very few races that didn't become a tactical race between 2k and 4k. Gebremeskel was top 5 in the world, so 12:46 wasn't unreasonable
I really think Ezekiel Kemboi is finally done and won't even make the team. Odd because it's coming the year after smoked everyone with that kick at the worlds.

Also odd because THAT was two years after he smoked everyone
And that was odd because THAT was a year before he smoked everyone
Kinda odd, you'd think, that the year before THAT, everyone was smoked by him
Smoked everyone the year before did he
Also 2009, smokefest, that one.
EK will be 34 tomorrow, he smoked a good deal of runners in his time. Nothing odd about the smoking ceasing at some point.
But the smoking won't cease anytime soon....
He just won a good steeple in 8:14 a couple days ago. He will be in very good shape in RIO!
Don't worry, Kemboi will be ready when it counts and other runners will make the same mistake again... let Kemboi be in the mix at the bell! Nobody will match his furious kick over the last 250m...
The guy has a de cent PR of 7:55 (yes from years ago, but...), so it's not like a moderate pace will kill him! They have to run under 8 to make sure Kemboi's kick isn't there at the end!

But shouldn't the smoking cease gradually instead of an abrupt and drastic cold-turkey-like abdication ?
The smokin will not cease until 2017! Mark my words!
