They were never in danger of missing Rio.
Lord Coe is THE MAN to clean up track and field. So says Dick Pound.
Versus the ex-Soviet that would take over should Coe be ousted? Yes, without a doubt.
Dick Pound talks a big game but WADA has been utterly complicit in this whole sham of elite competition.

Except for the persecution of Lance which there is seemingly no limit to the bloodthirst for.

Hi Lance!
The corruption would be no greater in your scenario. Simply the countries and athletes that benefit would change.

This is all Barack Obama's fault.

Why should they miss the Olympics? We still don't even know why they are non-compliant. They very well may be non-compliant because they are too tough on doping. Criminalizing doping is against the WADA code.
I've asked WADA for clarification and not heard back from them.
in a nutshell- Do not blame the athlete for taking part in a systemic system of PED use - you should get your panties in a knot because the NGB aids in their doing it. The IAAF are going to send the Kenyan Federation a harsh letter saying shame on you. Coe says he might even include] boldface type in the letter so that Kenya really really knows the IAAF is mad at them.
Why should they miss the Olympics?
Because at least 40 of their athletes have tested positive for PEDs in the last few years with only a minimal drug-testing system in place.
I will not watch a second of track and field at the Olympics if countries like Russia, Kenya, or Ethiopia are not banned. In fact, the IOC should be thinking about banning the IAAF and track and field from the Olympics.

The reason for that is simple: Pound hates the US for what happened with the Ben Johnson doping scandal. Pound subsequently always went after US athletes whenever he had the opportunity. His feelings are understandable, considering how Carl Lewis was allowed to get away with HGH and stimulant use. If Lewis had tested positive at Seoul it would have been covered up.

It was pretty funny when the Kenya nut-jobs were claiming Kenya's crazy tough stance and tireless efforts to stop their doping problem were the reason they're threatened with an Olympic ban.
No you're even wondering if this is actually true.
Kenya banned from the Olympics for being too damn clean. Which is unfair on Kenya because Renato says they're not actually capable of doping. They need to import some non-Kenyans and dope them so they can become compliant.
It's brilliant to be honest.

What!? And make governing bodies accountable for having clean sports?
I like your idea.

That's how Coe got his medals.
I'm convinced Kenya is not guilty of blood doping, due to their affect. They lead. Where are their weaknesses, they have none. Their bodies aren't blocked up as Europeans have become. And they can handle winning. This mickey mouse drama is insufferable. Innocent until proven guilty, sports fans. Moja.
God.
I will only watch Bekele run in Rio. And that's just for nostalgic reasons.
