I am a 17 year old high school distance runner and am about to compete in my last high school track season. Ever since I went on birth control to regulate my hormones, I have gained weight. I used to be 5'7 and 130 and am now 143-145. I feel it is hurting my performance. I try to cut back and just can't seem to get the unwanted weight off. I run about 40-45 miles a week and swim twice a week in the morning for 30 minutes. I just feel like this is not my natural weight. If feel like I am a lot bigger for a distance runner as well. How many calories should I be eating a day to get these added pounds off? Is 130 still to big to see steller performance?
