I have about two months to drop my mile time from 4:30-4:22. I ran my PR last year in january/february. I have good top speed, and okay mid distance speed and then as the distances go on my PR's get worse, but I've worked on that a lot since last track season. I had the best XC season of my life, ran on average a minute faster over 8k (28:00 to 27:00). My speed is still here. Did 4-6X100m strides 2-4 times a week ll through XC. Averaged 65-70mpw over the summer and 55-65mpw over XC season. I just got off my break and have started my first week of running again.
So the question is: How do I get good fast. I don't care about burning out for outdoor, I don't care about long term development. I really want to go for broke for this indoor season. I have about two months. I plan on still being smart and recovering and all that, but I would like to hear any "advice" or ideas or opinions you guys have. I'll be happy to answer any other questions.
Thanks!
