In an average week, how many times do you pop out of your door and go for a run vs. driving to a trail or track or other place to begin you run, then drive home when it is over?

About half of my runs are at places I have to drive to.
I need to drive to five of the 9 or 10 runs I do per week...

but there are only 7 days in a week?.!
I usually drive to all my daily "walks"
i run from my house only once or a twice a weeek, other than that, i drive about 10 minutes each way to a park that has miles among miles of trails.
morning runs are always right at my place no driving...
afternoon runs i always drive to because they are longer...
any speed workouts i do right at my front door to because i have a great one mile long circle walking track next to my apartment....
apparently sam here has never heard of doubles
why do a double when you can just get it in all at one time.
Hey Bubba1, are you planning on heading down to Austin for the Freescale marathon?
During the summer I drive to almost all my runs but now that winter is here and it's dark when I run I usually just go from the apt. Hard to run trails in the dark.
I think it's ridiculous to drive somewhere to run unless you are a short distance runner and don't have a track within three miles of your house. Get use to the pounding, races aren't held on trails.
I drive to nearly all of my runs. My neighborhood is very hilly and my aging achilles doesn't like too many hills.
Hey Swedes! I know I have been away for a while...but long time no talk!
I am not in any kind of marathon training mode at all....mainly in just pretty good 5K shape.......of course hunting season is taking away from my training too. But come Jan. 1, who knows, I may get a wild hair to do a few 20 milers and come down there to "jog" the marathon..or at least do the half. What about you?
I haven't driven anything anywhere since 1999. Suffice it to say I've run a time or two since then.
When I run trails, I generally drive. 5 minutes, and I'm on trails into Van Cortlandt or the trails frequented by the Iona College guys. During the summer, I'll drive from the train station directly to trails before going home. There's a trail-head about 1.25 miles from home that I sometimes run to, but I usually figure that that 1.25 (X 2) is better spent on the trail.
For track workouts, I usually drive because I have paraphenalia.
For road work, I start at the end of the path to my house.
Right now I have entered the White Rock half marathon and my plan is to try(key word is try)to run a decent marathon in Austin. If I can only keep these old legs from getting injured I should be okay. Not pacing my neighbor this year, so I'm trying to get a few more quality miles in.
I generally run from my house unless it's a track workout, in which case I'll usually do that at work. On saturdays, I drive down to my favorite Italian bakery and pick up some whole wheat bread and pizza shells, and then on the way back I stop at my buddy's house. From there we do a long run. I don't think that counts as "driving to run" though as I'd go to the bakery anyway. Sometimes during the Winter I'll drive over to the college where my wife works and use their indoor track for some speed work (we don't have one). If was to buy a new house I'd definitely check the surrounding area/roads for running access.

Really? Then why have a run several trail races in my life?
Anyway, I live in a shit hole city for running and running from home is extremely boring and a motivation killer.
Good thread:
All my AM runs, Mon-Fri, I drive to a nearby trail (15 minutes) and my Sun long runs I drive into town to run on the local marathon course and some hills.
All my PM runs are run from work. Period.
AM runs that require track work or hill work I still have to drive to (track sometimes I run as warmup, 3 mi, but the bridge is 15 min drive).
I'd say I drive to 60% of my runs.
