Background info...
- Half marathon PR 1:18:05
- 16-week buildup, plateauing with 55-60mpw for eight weeks. Generally 3-4 weeks up and 1 down.
- Weekly long runs increasing to include five of 20-22 miles.
- Marathon pace sections (6-10 miles) within most long runs.
- Tempo workout every week (5-6 miles at 6:00 pace or 6-8 x1 mile with short rest at 5:50-5:55 pace, etc)
- Half marathon within this training block, 1:19 (hard effort but not absolutely all-out)
- Recovery runs at 7:15-7:30/mile
Please advise/critique my plan!
21 days to go:
20 miles with 10 at marathon pace (done yesterday). 50 miles in third-to-last week. One tempo workout and one short marathon pace workout?
14 days to go:
13 miles with 6 at marathon pace. 40 miles in second-last week. One short marathon pace workout?
7 days to go:
10 miles steady, ending with progression to marathon pace. 25 miles in last week before race.
