I used to suffer with constant hip flexor pain up until about 8 months ago which has now disappeared until today. I had a race which went good and I decided to use the post race physio facility. Bad idea, I went and told him to do some work on my flexors because I keep an eye on them. He proceeded to dig his thumb so far into my hip flexor that he was nearly touching my femur.
It was only a 10k and I have never experienced so much pain during a massage(and I have had them after hitting the wall big time in marathons). As I am writing this, I am sitting here and I can't lift knee up very high because of the pain in my hip flexors. I have been to numerous physios in my time and it seems to me that there must be 100 incompetent physios out there for 1 good one. I only wanted a post race myo-fascial massage and now my hip flexors are constantly in spasm.
How can so many college educated professionals be so bad at their professions?
I have a marathon coming up in 8 weeks and I may not be able to train fully for it because of some idiots negligence. Has anyone else had bad experience with physios?
