You have to leave in episode I. I think it may not be very eventful but it is important to Anakin developing his relationship with Padme and showing where his fear of loss comes from. Episode I sets up the story line. It explains the prophecy and the Jedi order. Episode I is good at showing what the galaxy was like just before the Sith returned.
I like them in the order of I II III IV V VI VII. The movie flows better that way and the viewer can see the changes in the Galaxy and the journey that is Anakin's life. The movies are about the life of the chosen one. It seems like the guy that cam up with this just has some nostalgia about the original series.
as a huge star wars fan, i admit that i love episode 1. i watched episode 1 with my 4 year old the other day, and it was great.
the thing about episode 1 was that you'd had all these questions in your head about what the 'great society' of the old republic was like. it was awesome to finally see it. it was awesome to see obi wan as a jedi knight in action.
i feel like episode 1 retains the heart of an original trilogy star wars film while that nostalgic feeling was lost in episodes 2 and 3.
