Would you consider him Thrifty or a Cheap MF? Also would you continue to date him?

A man after my own heart....
This question was proposed on some TV program a couple of days ago.
A coupon on the first date? That's either horribly naive or a man as bold as Evel Knievel. Could be a great conversation starter, or killer. Should be easy to tell if the guy's a miser or level-headed fellow with a coupon and no money.
I can't think of many good date locations that issue/accept coupons in the first place. Are you thinking of taking a girl to Pizza Hut for a date?
am not a woman but ----
an off the cuff 'what are you doing tonight' troll for a chance at date with a cute gal while we were standing in line for a to-go lunch scored big points and got a quick yes when i suggested stopping at the tdf tkts tkts booth* and picking up broadway show seats.
not really using a coupon but i saved some bucks and a first run broadway play seems way nicer than a multiplex small screen and popcorn first date.
in general i suggest you "invest for success" as an early dating strategy but a little creative thinking can go a long way... and while i did not use this tactic when she commented she had a fun night i could have said want to see what kind of fun we can have with another halfprice coupon tomorrow night?
*i`ll bet your town has some kind of TDF coupon program
Try restaurant.com. You can get a $25 Coupon/Gift Certificate for anywhere between $2-4. What rational woman would ever complain when she is not paying for the meal? That tells me that there is something seriously wrong with that girl/woman. If someone took me out, I wouldn't care if she has a coupon or has to sing and dance in front of everyone to get the discount. It's the thought that counts. I would not date a woman for long that looks down on me trying to save a few dollars. If I can save some $, I can take her out more often. If she wants to complain, I will gladly give her the bill and have her show me the proper way of handling the check.
The problem today is that no one appreciate someone that is thinking ahead or actually has a head on their shoulders. People think that that person is "Boring" or "Not Hip."
Answer one question for me: How is being broke being cool??? Especially when you can't pay for anything. How is that having it going on??
ms oliveoil, I sure hope your first name is not extra virgin!btw I have some two for one coupons for Trojans in my front pocket want to fish them out for me!!
