Redshirted indoors and outdoors last year with achilles trouble. Heard he had surgery and is coming back from it decently. Plan is to redshirt cross country in order to give him an entire 5th year and be able to run him in as many Big 10 events as possible because my Badgers will win the track team title if not!
That is what I don't like about Plaz. They run Mead in 3k/5k and 5k/10k at every conference meet and I don't believe he has ever run USATF Championships. I don't think he has ever showed u at even NCAA's with fresh legs!
You're wrong, he ran in the heats of the 5k at the 08' Olympic Trials...

On Minnesota's athletic website they showed the team meeting with their compliance office the first day of practice. I don't think he would have been there the first day had he been redshirting.

Because at least at my school (D1 ACC) the varsity runners have the first meeting then the rest of the team

Minnesota sells it soul for the conference meet and Mead will never run professionally as a result!
