Any Recommendations for the best extra Slim Fit Dress Shirts Out There for Skinny runner dudes like Us?

I agree with you on the Brooks Brother shirts. Their "slim fit" really isn't all that slim. Plus they just fit me weird in general -- for instance, the sleeves always feel short compared to the same length on other dress shirts.

If you're looking to just load up on quantity with a cheaper brand, I've actually always liked the way that Geoffrey Beene slim fit shirts fit me. Compared to other shirts I've worn, it doesn't feel like you're wearing a parachute with all the extra fabric floating around. I haven't exactly experimented with a lot of different brands though (such as Thomas Pink), so it's possible there's even better stuff out there for normal sized people.

My bfriend, who is himself very slim, wears the Brooks Brothers extra slim fit. I always order on-line from BB's becuase the stores never stock his size.

Yes, you just have to order the BB extra slim online, they have most styles in Extra Slim, at least most styles that you would wear for dress.

To the guy complaining about sleeve length... Just get a longer sleeve length. If you are buying 32/33, buy 34. You likely wear your sleeves too long. It is a major problem with people in the US, not knowing how to wear clothing.

You are fit, wear stuff that fits. You are in the minority here in the US, so take advantage of it.

It has nothing to do with what length I choose to wear my sleeves. It's a matter of different brands sizing their shirts dissimilarly. I've found that a given sleeve length does not fit the same between the Brooks Brothers brand and other brands I've worn. Obviously if I choose to buy from them in the future I would need to get a different size compared to my other shirts in order to fit properly.

You should try the extra slim shirts at Express. I just discovered these and they are awesome. Really snug and neat fit. The only downside is that they come in mostly bright colors, although you can get the traditional blue and white shades.

Express shirts look great at first, but they start looking like shit after being washed a few times. I would recommend J. Crew. They make an XS that fits skinny guys pretty well.

Without question, Express has the best slim fit dress shirts. I wore Brooks Brothers for a while, but it was still way too much fabric. For Express, I wear a size SM in their extra slim fit, and a M in their fitted cotton dress shirts. I'd say the medium is a better fit for me because I have broader shoulders. I'm 5'11 and about 155. If you have a slim to muscular build, you will look really good in their shirts. Their skinny ties are off the f'ing chain as well.

They have a more European cut that is good for runners.

Express definitely has some of the best fits for skinny guys HOWEVER their quality is so low, I can only wear them a few times.

Dolce & Gabbana has good fits but are a little pricier.

I generally just get all of my shirts tailored.

Calvin Klein extra slim fits me very well. 6'1, 145 and I wear 15-1/2 / 33-34.

J Crew's dress shirts (size small) are slim fitting, not a lot of fabric, and have been the only shirt I have worn for the past few years since college. I'm 5'11" and 145lbs and size small is perfect for me.

Jos. A BankSeem to fit a little better than BB. They have a little more conservative selection than Express, etc., for those that work in more conservative industries. Plus they usually have quarterly sales where you can get 2 or 3 shirts for the price of one.

Ben sherman works for me. I'm 6 ft 140.

Zara makes some very slim dress shirts since it’s European designed/inspired.

Bonobos tailored fit dress shirts are also good. Can be pricey, but there is almost always a sale going on.

Proper Cloth is an online tailor that lets you put in all the measurements for a great fit. A little pricey at $85-200, but we’ll worth it for a truly tailored shirt. They even give you a free “do over” if the first shirt doesn’t fit properly.

I’m 6’0” and 145, and all my dress shirts are Bonobos or Proper Cloth.

Me and my teammates started wearing the ladies dress shirts from Express. I think those are best for runners

I posted in this thread 11 years ago. Man, that is a long time. I used to wear my shirts WAY too tight. Just wear shirts that fit.
