Hardest?
The Barkley Marathons
Fastest?
I'd say Berlin since that is where the WR was set. World Record equals fastest.

My ranking of current/active marathon courses, from slowest to fastest, assuming it's the same weather conditions at every one:
5. Country Music Marathon
4. Cowtown Marathon
3. Top of Utah (altitude)
2. Houston Marathon
1. Indy Monumental Marathon
Columbus is FAST, even if it's your first time out there.
I didn't really train properly or with any kind of structure and ran 3:24 (37 mpw for 22 weeks on average).
I'd love to run Chicago someday.
Both Pittsburgh and Flying Pig look like suicide. LOL

Wow, an October Pig. Definitely not fast haha. I had a 3:30 friend run Pig once and he ran it in 3:45. Those hills are real. Pittsburgh is also tough, from what I've heard.
I wonder how fast Philly and Houston are.
I thought about doing Indy but decided that I'll do a loop course marathon in February. It's safer and I don't want to get hurt at Indy.
My mother (who is not a runner but walks and exercises in other ways) said "There's always another Marathon!"
What is the threshold that separates a "hobbyjogger" from a "sub-elite" runner?
Caitlin Clark thinks she can beat Eagles draft pick Cooper Dejean in 1 on 1
Cade Flatt with yet another DNF, this time in the SEC Championships
Do "running influencers" harm the competitive nature of the sport?
