Some sort of fish with legs?
...I really don't know?
probably either a crocodile or a human
hippo maybe? those things can move
Bird? Duck?
a sandshark
My guess is a big cat. Most likely a jaguar or perhaps a tiger.

otter
I'm going to say a river otter. Possibly a polar bear, but I can't recall exactly how fast they can swim (I think it's pretty fast). But i know they can haul ass on land.
phelps over bolt!

Croc or gator seem logical.
100 meters in the water and 100 meters on land
For most creatures who can do both the swim will take longer than the run. The majority of the event will be a swim event. You will need a land animal that is a very good swimmer.
I'm gonna have to go with the Polar Bear as the favorite in the animal duothon. (Although man could probably swim a sprint faster)
A seal. Could be in and out of the water before man or bear is fully wet. The seal would lose some time in the land portion perhaps, but I think the lead coming out of the water would be to big to overcome by any other animal.
I think a penguin could beat man.

The myth busters proved that wasn't true.
Moose. No joke, they cross lakes all the time and when they gallop... woo, it wouldn't even be a contest if they were in the race.

I'm going to have to go with the otter over the croc. Guaranteed a river otter can swim as fast or faster (crocs aren't really speed swimmers- more floaters), and on land, a croc might be faster over 50 ft but not 100m. Gotta figure an otter has land speed similar to a small dog. I think the otter takes it, unless someone out there knows the swimming top speed of a polar bear.
giraffe
Otter can take on polar bear.
