It was great to see Khadevis win the 1500m; however, I would like to see him in a few more as I think it would help his 800m. Someone needs to tell David Krummenacker it's time he moved to the 1500m permanently!!! |

Yeah, it's pretty interesting to see Robinson running a 1500m. I've never seen any results before from him doing one, and it never even really occured to me that he could and could probably run a decent time(faster than 3:50). I agree that racing 1500m could be good training for racing the 800m distance. I think it could help his strength and aerobic power. And at this time of the season, that's probably at the top of the list as far as training priorities. A few years ago, he commented in an interview saying how he had started doing more tempo runs in the off-season, an example of one he would do would be a 10 mile tempo run at 6:00 pace. Rosa or some other 800m coach has also commented before about how crucial it actually is to have high aerobic thresholds for continued improvement. Top 800m runners in the world, if they wish to continue improving past the 1:43 mark, should be able to run a 10k in under 30:00. Not necessarily during the spring or summer season, but in the "off-season" when they're working on base, strength, and general fitness. So getting back to Robinson running the 1500m, maybe doing this is the type of workout, if you want to call it that, that will give him an extra edge in aerobic power. I wonder what he could run in a 1000m outdoor. 2:15? |

The crowd sucked for the 1500's. I felt bad for those guys running at Mt Sac with hardly anyone watching. It did pick up for the 5k and 10k!!!!! |

I wasn't saying that to be rude concerning David Krummenacker; however, the guy ran 3:31.9 back in 2002 with training primarily for the 800m. The aging factor and also having an outstanding european 1500m debut should have been enough to prompt several seasons of training and running the 1500 primarily! |

Krum should just retire. He hasn't done crap for the last several years. I respect him and all, but SBs of 1:46 just aren't impressive for someone who once WON(!) a world championship 800m. As for running the 1500, I think he missed his chance. Too bad. Being an 800m specialist with a 3:31 PR, he might have had a shot at a medal in that event. Training for the 800m and 1500m are only moderately similar. With a little more focus on the 1500/mile he might have run 3:30 and/or ended up with a championship medal to go along with his indoor gold. |
