I have watched the SFU girls at Nationals for several years. Several things are really interestin seeing as Julia ran a 2:17 as a Freshmen... and both Julia and Rebecca are amazing now. Either their coach is a genius ( I know she was an amazing runner in her day) or something fishy is going on.
They have both cretainly gotten bigger and stronger over their four years but I expect something fishy. THe NAIA has NO DRUG testing period. It would not be the first time that has happened in the NAIA. Remeber Sammy Nemoungo from Life... he had the 3rd fastest 10k in the world in 1997. He came in as tiny Kenyan as a freshmen 110 pounds soaking wet. His sophmore and Junior season he was suddenly 140lbs and running world class times. When he graduated he dropped off the surface of the running world. Reports were he tested positive at a US Track Field 10K shortly after graduating.
Not saying the SFU girls are dopping but they certainly could get away with it in the NAIA. Time for the NAIA to anit up and start testing for dope !!! Come on its to easy to dope when you know you wont get tested!
