Mottram's mile split in that race was 3:57 you moron. Willis is a 3:50 guy.
If you're talking about that 2km 2 weeks ago, Buster ran through 1600m in 3.53. Also his last 1600m of the 5000m the other night and Choge was 3.58, Choge was 3.56. Should be a great race tonight.
Anybody but Mottram please! I'm getting facking tired of "gee, the white man is keeping up with the mountain men, can he possibly beat them, or are they just genetically superior, blah blah blah". Hey Mottram, look up Seb Coe and Steve Ovett and Steve Cram. And quit whining.
interesting how mottram can beat beaten with what appeared to be a flat out ... 3:52/3:53 mile and then not long later be able to do that alone and then drop another 400 and the same pace.
spells epo to me. the drug doesn't make you fast, just allows you to maintain longer.
Who is going to stay up and wait anxiously for the results???
just think about it. wrote:

Yes stupid, what ever you reckon. You'd be the expert! Like it's not as if he's hasn't run a 3.48 mile before. Really, some people should doubt their own existence.
It's on at 7.30pm Melbourne Time. That's 3.30am time of the US East Coast.

Willis will choke! Just like he has in every major championship to date
1. Mottram
2. Fountain
3. McCormick
which "major championships" are you referring to? he only missed qualifying for the final at world champs by a tenth of a second. he won the mile at NCAA's last winter and in outdoor, he was 3rd in the 5000, which he never runs. yeah, major choker.
WRONG - the post was wrong. the split really was 3:57 and he kicked in 53. his kilo split was 2:26. straight from Nic Bideau.

No, you're WRONG! It's a misquote. I was there he went through 1600m in 3.53, take my word for it. His last lap was 57 sec. He split 58, 59, 59, 57, 57.
I was surprised how comfortable Baddely looked. If you look at his back kick youll notice he doesnt lift his legs very high at all - perhaps giving the impression he is jogging. He also had to learn to swing his arm differently cos of his cast. Dark horse for medal? My vote goes Willis and Mottram - not sure which order. Then Hopefully a Brit chasin them in. Cant wait - good thread by the way guys but come on - theres no need to be abusive. Just rem everyone has and is entitled to their own opinions. Be happy!!!

To go further once you've hit "M2006" hit "Australia" under medal tally, then across to the right hit "all days", which gives you that day's highlights, hit "5" for day 5 then scroll down to "men's 5000m" and you'll get the last 3 1/2 laps of the Commonwealth Games 5000m, one great race. There's lots of other hightlights too if you wish to watch them.
Enjoy
Picking a CR and PB for Willis, Mottram will have to take it out hard and Willis will have to go with him, but Mottram will not be able to hold off the fleet of foot youngster and legend to be Willis, also not only may the 5k have taken a tiny bit out of Mottram, but Willis is all about the 1500 for these games and he will be as hungry and well prepared for tonite as anyone,
should be a cracker
WILLIS 3.31.71
MOTTRAM 3.32.19
Come on......get you lazy arses out of bed and on to the computer, the 1500m is 15 min away.......lol!!!!!!!!!

im falling asleep help
wow....
1)Willis 3:38
2)Brennan 3:39
9) Mottram 3:44
What a complete anti-climax!! Willis first, Mottram was accidental tripped and fell with 700m to go. At that point McCormick was in front, Willis behind him and Mottram sitting on Willis poised to make a move hard down the back straight the second-last time. Hard to say how it would've panned out as they went through 800m in 2.00 so it was slow. As I said, disappointing anti-climax that left everyone at the MCG gutted. Buster had a really good laugh about it when interviewed after the race although he must have been bitterly disappointed deep down. Glad it wasn't the 5000m.
Willis' time was 3.38, Branne from Canada 2nd in 3.39, Fountain from Australia 3rd in 3.39.
