Err, policy making should not be about what's fair, but rather what maximizes the welfare of society. That's been historically true since Reagan. Despite political differences, prior administrations acted in good faith and at least attempted to do what they thought would maximize welfare. Unfortunately, this administration is more concerned with maximizing corporate profits and then deluding its zealot followers into believing that somehow magically those corporate profits will make their way back to consumers.
In this instance, there's some erroneous notion that reduced regulations on the ISP industry will lead to efficiency and welfare gains. This completely ignores the fact that ISPs have almost a complete monopoly power of their respective markets. Microeconomics 101 teaches us that a monopolist has every incentive to restrict supply/access to their product, which results increased prices, in order to maximizes their profits at the expense of consumer surplus. Unfortunately, it seems that no one at the FCC or republican senators actually passed microeconomics. Either that or they're not actually public servants but rather corporate servants.

Of those, Sonic would be a viable option but they only currently have fiber optic in a small set of locations (not mine). Everywhere else, they are just using ATT's DSL (which is fiber to the node, but copper from the node to your location which means = slow).

People love to fly Spirit and Frontier. Their rates have driven costs down across the board.
Why will this be different? There is tremendous overhead for starting an airline as well. Yet competition still occurs.
I'm a big fan of letsrun. It is literally my favourite site to be. I couldn't put a price on it because it's value is behind measure. I would be honored to be one of the owners of letsrun. Someday that will be my goal. The brojos, benevolent dictator and Renato Convano are my favourite people(apart from Bekele). If Bekele was on this site then it truly would be paradise. Maybe when re retires after his marathon world record's he will come. I must reach out to him literally. I have many articles and posters on my wall, with news and photos of letsrun stories/people. When I wake up in the morning, I look at my wall while I ate breakfast, and it gives me inspiration for the day, when I leave the house. I imagine that some day, when I become a big part of letsrun, will dedicated letsrun fans have posters on there wall's, with me beside brojos and any of the others who are high up here.
All three branches of your American Federal government have become such a joke. You use public--tax payer money--to do research and then you hand the fruits over to corporations and may everyone pay even more for the technology than you paid in taxes originally. You complain about our high European taxes, but at least we only pay for things one time.

This goes against the entire idea of the internet being global. Your ISP now has the power to semi-enforce which services you can use over their bandwidth.
I will dumb it down for you. Let's say you contract a landline phone service. You can only call the west coast reliably, if you want to call your east coast cousin then the call breaks a lot, disconnects, etc. Got it now, dumb dumb? It's not the end of the internet like morons are saying, but it is not a good thing. It will never be a good thing.

No one cares about the traffic generated by letsrun. That's the ISP's least concern.
Currently, 80% of Internet traffic is basically youtube and netflix. And they make millions off of it and they don't provide the "pipes"; ISP's do.
So why not make youtube and netflix pay more?
Compare with tolls on a road bridge. Pedestrians are free (=letsrun), 16 wheelers pay extra (=youtube).

Semi's cause more damage to the road over time because they weigh more. Youtube and Netflix doesn't hurt the copper/fiber anymore than Letsrun. This is all about ISPs getting in on the streaming money grab.
