Grant Fisher struggles in half marathon debut, fades to 14th at 2026 NYC Half
Grant Fisher’s half marathon debut did not go as planned at the 2026 United NYC Half. The indoor 3000m and 5000m world record holder ran with the lead pack early but faded badly over the final 5K to finish 14th, while South Africa’s Adriaan Wildschutt won the race in his second-ever half marathon.

American stars Cole Hocker & Grant Fisher not planning on running World Cross Country Championships in the USA
The US's hopes of assembling a Dream Team to challenge for gold on home soil in Tallahassee will take a hit without the Olympic medalists Fisher and Hocker. Fisher's coach Mike Scannell did say there is a 20% chance Fisher runs the Trials race but even if he made the team he wouldn't run World xc. "I’ll give [the US trials] about a 20% chance," Scannell said. "But World Cross is just not on the radar right now at all."

Cole Hocker closes in 51 to win 5000m and set up Tokyo double
Cole Hocker closed in 51.76 to win the men’s 5000m at the 2025 USATF Championships in 13:26.45, completing his bid to double in Tokyo. He outkicked Grant Fisher and Nico Young in a tactical race, with Drew Hunter and Cooper Teare rounding out the top five.

Grant Fisher wants his Grand Slam Track money: "Tomorrow would be the last day before I think people get pretty upset."
GST committed to paying Kingston prize money by the end of July; Fisher, who is owed $100,000 for that meet, said he has still not been paid. "I don't want it to come to a lawsuit and a big headache and Grand Slam being crushed and everyone saying 'I told you so,'" Fisher said. "I don't think that's a good outcome for anybody."
