I use these shoes for all my training runs, even the speed stuff on occasion. It’s the best daily trainer shoe out there because it bounces along and provides miles of leg saving goodness. It takes the top long run shoe spot in my rotation as well due to the leg/feet saving properties and it’s the only shoe I’ve tried that stays comfortable through 20+ miles. The shoe is very plush in the upper as well hugging the foot in pillow like comfort. You can pick up the pace in it as well, even though it’s not the lightest shoe out there by a long shot, it prepares your legs for running all out in Nikes race day shoes the Vaporfly and Alphafly, and gives those shoes a magical feel when you lace them up on race day and feel the weight disappear. The 3rd version of the Invincible Run Flyknit did get more stable with a wider base and improved midsole geometry and the thicker outsole makes them last twice as long as the 1st and 2nd version. For the 4th version I’d love to see Nike drop the weight a little on these while still keeping the durability, either way I’ll be running many miles in them.
These shoes not only have me consistently running at a lower heart rate (helps keep easy days easy), but they also provide superior comfort/cushioning to help the legs recover. If that wasn’t enough, they’re decent enough to pick up the pace to an “uptempo” subthreshold pace when you want, with good stability despite the soft ZoomX foam. The only negative is the heel slip, which wasn’t present in the previous generation Invincibles. Using the runner’s knot got rid of this for me. IF the durability is similar to the previous generation, it is more than adequate, but the foam does seem to toughen up a bit past 300 miles. They’re still usable past that point, but changing them out is never a bad idea if you have the spare change.
I've been running in ZoomX Invincible 2's and now 3's for the last 18 months. The cushioning is fantastic: they are like running on pillows, but the "pop" only lasts around ~250-300 miles or so before I find myself needing to replace the shoe. The stack is also rather high which has seemed to somewhat increase my risk of rolling an ankle, particularly while on grass or unpaved trails.
Overall I love the show and will likely continue using it, but would love it if Nike were to make the "pop" last longer for these shoes.
The invincible 3 is the best trainer I’ve ever run in, it feels like running on clouds during light recovery or easy runs. I have also found that it is still comfortable without feeling mushy for lighter workouts, such as a tempo run. However, the heel lock is always either too loose or too tight, and I ended up having to buy thicker socks to feel properly locked in. The biggest problem with these shoes is it’s price, costing 180 dollars on the Nike website. While I was able to get mine on sale, and many third party sites have sales on them as well, this price is just too much for any casual runner just looking for some shoes to run in.
I love the Nike ZoomX Invincible Run Flyknit 3 so much that I got a pair for my son as well. I like teh stable platform and the cushioning. Would love to see a change in the material or design on the back heel tab as it seems to rub my achilles a bit from time to time, as a result I cant run with low profile socks.
Invincible's run 3 are my every day trainer. I rely on them to give me the spring I need to run 60-75 miles per week. they're light weight, durable(600-700 miles) and give you the stability I need from the newest update. The zoomx(pebax) is incredible. Similar bounce to that of the super shoes. Only negative is the $$ but I'm willing to pay for the value these give me. At 41 years young- my legs are saved!
I’m shocked more people don’t rave about this shoe. The cushioning is sublime, it is bouncy and it is forgiving on my old-man Achilles. I absolutely love this shoe. I predict it will keep me sub 1:30 for the half marathon well into my 60s.
As a master's runner (57 yrs old), recovery is key. I can do a couple workouts a week and then throw these on for my easy days to speed up recovery. They feel amazing. Light, well cushioned and stable. The tread is not great on wet roads (and wet road paint) and doesn't have a lot of traction on mud or wet grass but it is great on paved paths, sidewalks, and roads. My first pair was the Invincible 2 and I have run almost 1000km on them. I don't wear them a lot anymore but I can still run comfortably in them when I want to. The shoe holds together well and the cushioning lasts. I like these shoes best for moderate length and longer runs that are typically run at an easier pace (sometimes I throw tempo into my long runs and they work fine).
My girlfriend says they are not cushy, but I'm guessing certain weights will get the most benefit. I'm 200lbs which isn't huge but big for a runner and these feel so springy and soft for me. Also I got them in Wide and they are actually truly wide. I've done a bunch of runs in these and even with a 10 shoe rotation I keep coming back for more. I have gotten 2 pairs at Nike Refurb Outlet for a damn good price but would pay full price if I couldn't find them as I love em!
I love the Nike invincible run 3 because of its fit and the slab of zoomx foam on the bottom. It is an amazing daily trainer and lasts 300-600 miles
