Much improved feel and performance to the Torin 6.
The upper is much more comfy and breathable.
Sizing is a bit large, i went down a half size from my normal Altra size.
I also like that they make a 2E width for an very wide shoe.
It has a very stable ride and the midsole more responsive and cushioned than the previous version.
Works well at very easy paces to threshold efforts.
The bottom tread seems to be better quality as well.
My only gripe is Altra still hasn't found a suitable adhesive to prevent sidewall tearing at the point of supination on the outside of the shoe. The 6 had the same issue. What is puzzling is the first few Altra models from 5-6 years ago never had tearing in the upper or sidewall of the shoe. Why can't they just go back to the original adhesive? For the prices they are charging Altra needs to fix this issue fast or they are going to lose alot of customers. Luckly, super glue or shoe goo seems to fix the problem so I can get another few hundred miles out the the shoe.
My plantar fascia really appreciate these shoes. A slight improvement would be more tread for muddy/icy trail runs. I have added sheet metal screws to an old pair to cover this problem.
I have loved how Altras have helped me run again after having foot pain and plantar fasciitis that has caused me pain in the past! I can run pain free and prevent future injuries! It also has helped me fix my pronation issues and become a neutral runner which has prevented so many other injuries!
Not durable at all. Upper was very fragile and frayed easily with only two months of training.
I love that Altras have the foot shape and zero drop. Switching to Altra has helped alleviate my plantaris fasciitis. I run in Altra and I also recently started running in Topo Athletics.
Nit great
The Torin is back! Finally Altra has returned to the function and cushion of the Torin 4. It’s almost better.
This shoe appears to be an improvement to my favorite - Torin 6! Time will tell on durability. It has a higher stack and feels even more comfy. Hoping it remains durable.
