Last night the Bowerman Track Club ran an intra-squad track meet in Portland, OR and threw down some of the top distance performances of the year, including three world leads. The four race meet was highlighted by the women’s 5000m where Elise Cranny (14:48.02) and Courtney Frerichs (14:50.06) ran the 7th and 8th fastest times in US history.

In the men’s race, Sean McGorty ran a world lead with 13:11.22 to just beat out Grant Fisher (13:11.68) and Evan Jager (13:12.12). In the 1500s, Shelby Houlihan ran a world leading 4:02.37 over Karissa Schweizer (4:02.81) and Josh Thompson ran 3:39.66 to barely beat out Lopez Lomong (3:39.66) and Mo Ahmed (3:39.84).

Unfortunately, what could have been a very exciting night for track fans everywhere went to waste as the meet was only announced at the last minute and there was no live streaming. A huge missed opportunity at a time quality meets are far and few between and fans are desperate to watch a good track race.
